How to test the tightness of the packaging bag?
In the packaging bag production process due to the influence of many factors, may produce sealing leakage seal, pressure through or material itself cracks, micropores and the formation of internal and external connected holes. These will have a very adverse impact on the packaging content, especially in food, pharmaceutical packaging, daily chemicals and other industries, sealing will directly affect the quality of the product. Poor sealing is the main reason for future leakage and corruption.
See the criteria as below:
Standard Called | Testing name | Sample Type | Test Method | Condition |
---|---|---|---|---|
ASTMD 3078-1994 | Standard Test Method for Detecting Leaks in Flexible Packaging | Flexible Packaging Bag | Visual inspection in air bubble and coloring | Under 17kPa, 24kPa, 51kPa, 90kPa vacuum level to keep for 30s. |
JIS Z0382-1981 | Test method of sealing flexible packaging | Flexible Packaging Bag | Visual inspection in air bubble and coloring | Under 0.98kPa vacuum level to keep 30~60s. |
GB/T 15171-1994 | Test method of sealing function in flexible packaging | Flexible Packaging Bag | Visual inspection in air bubble and coloring | Under 20kPa, 30kPa, 50kPa, 91kPa vacuum level to keep 30s. |
There have a lot of difference testing way to explain and meet the standard. The general approve in testing is GB/T15171–1994.
